Beyond Borders Korah, Ethiopia

In Addis Ababa, Ethiopia there is a neighborhood called Korah. In Amharic Korah means “cursed.” The city dumps its trash there, and thousands struggle while scavenging for survival. We believe education that is rooted in Christ’s love is the long-term solution for the transformation of this community. We believe this place is not cursed but blessed, and we are blessed to invest in the precious people of Korah.

Beyond Borders partners with two local organizations in Korah - Brook Hills Development Organization and Korah Kids - and with Open Schools Worldwide, to support the delivery of a bilingual bridging program for children aged 7-19 who have never had the opportunity to go to school. We work together to provide the children with a safe learning space to come to five days a week, excellent teachers, learning materials, discipleship support, apprenticeship programs for youth, and two nutritious meals a day lovingly prepared by women in the community who now have a meaningful way to support themselves and their families.

This cost-effective and holistic program extends Christ’s love through providing access to an education that promotes learning and healing. God is transforming the community of Korah and these children will be the leaders of tomorrow!

Be a part of this legacy of transformation for children who God has not forgotten by becoming a monthly partner at $35/ month and give the gift of education today.

Help provide for additional student needs at Korah in Ethiopia so students can experience God’s transformational love.
