Refuge in Niger is not the end of pain for many of those fleeing or rescued from war and genocide. Refugees live in a sort of limbo, waiting for months, sometimes years, in Niger and hope to be resettled in Europe or North America.

We partner with Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to provide English speaking teachers and operate English as Foreign Language (EFL) classes for adult refugees and preschool age children awaiting resettlement. Recently, we opened a mobile library at the refugee centers in Niamey, and a second one in Agadaz. Each week, adults and children come to read books. This is an informal way to provide education for people on the move.

Most of our students come from Sudan, Central African Republic, and Somalia. While the situation seems hopeless, we seek to provide hope through English language acquisition and education that is rooted in Christ's love.

Beyond Borders is committed to supporting non-formal educational opportunities for those who are displaced. We invite you to partner with us by investing in the lives of these adults and their children as they wait for the opportunity to be resettled.
