Missio Dei Christian School is a primary school with learners from Grade RR to Grade 7. Our School is located on a farm outside of the border town of Ficksburg bordering Lesotho in the Eastern Freestate province of South Africa. The learners come from surrounding farms and are Sesotho speaking, but the school is an English medium school.

Our vision is to lead every child in a relationship with Christ, help them find their identity in Christ and help develop the character of Christ in them. We aim to bring hope and life to children and the community.

We are registered with both the Department of Education and the Independent Schools Association of South Africa (ISASA) to help ensure that our school provide quality education.

We are grateful and blessed, as this is our 11th year of operation.

As is the case in most of rural South Africa, the socio-economic circumstances of the families and primary caregivers range from minimum wage farm workers to no-income families relying on government grants or family support. To address this, we have no school tuition.

We aim to create a save and stable environment for our learners. One of our teachers is a qualified pastoral counsellor to help children and parents to deal and cope with trauma, social problems and life which can be tough for these kids and their families. As in many financial and social challenged communities, alcohol abuse, ancestor worship and other social problems is common in the area surrounding our school, creating a need for inclusive education helping children overcome learning and emotional barriers.

We are largely dependent on external funding for the daily operations of our school and operate as a Non Provet Organisation NPO (reg nr 930050056). The school is owned by a group of farmers in the area striving to make Gods Kingdom visible on earth
