Administrative Assistant - Language & Translation Team

The Administrative Assistant will serve the Language Team by scheduling meetings, managing the team email inbox and handling additional administrative tasks and duties to support the day-to-day work of the team. Professional level bilingualism is preferred for this role.

Responsibilities and Duties: 

  • Monitor the shared, team email. 
  • Assign action items to the appropriate translator after taking notes in meetings or looking through the team email. 
  • Oversee the team calendar; schedule meetings for the team and take notes at those meetings. 
  • Communicate with clients on behalf of the translators. 
  • Send communications on behalf of the language team such as reminders for our conversation groups or tutoring appointments, inform and update clients as needed on project timeline and queue status. 
  • Manage our Resource hub on Microsoft Teams.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Bilingual abilities strongly preferred but not required  
  • Passion for Christ and the Gospel 
  • Active participant in a local church community

Education and Experience:  

  • Equivalent professional career experience.  
  • Administrative experience, with the ability to provide consultative guidance and cultivate available resources to respond to needs 

Professional and Technical Skills:  

  • Self-starter; ability to work independently, as a team player, and from a distance. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills, ideally coupled with additional language skills. 
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 tools for day-to-day business, including Outlook email and calendar, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.

This opportunity is a remote and support based position; Part-time (5-20 hours/week). Pay is based on the applicant's own ability to raise funds for their salary; paid via donor or self-support.
