Africa Regional People Services Coordinator

The Africa Regional People Services Coordinator will provide administrative support to both the Africa Regional Team and People Services department to fulfill the Human Resource responsibilities of TeachBeyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Provide direct human resource support to TeachBeyond members serving within Africa
  • Research and keep up to date with current local employment legislation and it's impact on TeachBeyond
  • Support interdepartmental efforts and initiatives, coordinating with leadership and peers (regionally and globally) on key initiatives
  • Assist with the writing, review, and explanation of organisational policy; includes communicating and enforcing policy
  • Assist with and monitor the administration of the full employee life cycle: hiring, preboarding, onboarding, engagement, leaves, transfers, performance management, career development, and off boarding
  • Assist in tracking and maintaining member leave processes
  • Collaborate with project leaders to approve member transactions and requests
  • Utilise organisational systems to anticipate needs, prompt member activities, and develop reports to contribute to strategic decisions for your the Africa Region
  • Mediate in conflict resolution; report matters of concern promptly and request assistance as needed
  • Sign organisational paperwork as the local People Services representative

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS DESIRED

  • Minimum undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field of study; or equivalent professional career experience
  • Proven experience in supervising individuals and leading teams
  • Significant intercultural experience preferred
  • Human Resource experience preferred
  • Administrative, process, and project management experience preferred

This opportunity is a remote and support based role; full-time or part-time; 20-40 hours/week. Pay is based on the applicant's own ability to raise funds for their salary; paid via donor or self-support.
