As the art and music teacher, your role is to inspire students and help them connect with the world in a new and unique way. Because this is an elementary position, these classes are also designed to develop students' fine and gross motor skills as they grow. This is a traveling teacher position, where you will push-in to different classrooms throughout the day. While you do not have your own classroom (yet!), you will have a dedicated workspace in one of our offices.

Our school day begins with staff prayer at 7:30am and the student day lasts from 8am to 3pm. Teachers typically complete their workdays by 3:30pm, however, you can expect one "team meeting" a week from 3:30-4:15pm, as well as staff devotions on Friday afternoons from 3:30-4:30pm. 

Arbor Christian Academy serves approximately 120 students from Kindergarten through 6th Grade. Our student population is a beautiful mix of Dominican, Haitian, and American cultures, as well as a variety of socio-economic statuses. Twenty-five percent of our student body receives tuition assistance (scholarships) which are primarily funded by our community English program. 

San Francisco de Macorís is the third-largest city in the Dominican Republic. Located in the north-central region, we are considered an agricultural town and surrounded by beautiful rice fields and mountains.
