Asia Regional Member Care Coordinator

Responsibilities and Duties [all may require travel]

Identify, develop and care for Local Member Care coordinators

  • Seek to appoint a qualified mc coordinator in any assignment location that has seven or more members present
  • Keep regular contact with these coordinators for assessment, communication and training.
  • Be a resource and referral for the local member care coordinators.
  • Pray with and for coordinators and teams

 Ensure that necessary services beyond the capacity or experience of the local member care coordinators are accessible [30%]

  • Compile and manage a list of extra-agency resources that are available in the region.
  • Step in as needed to assist the Local Member Care Coordinator
  • Work in conjunction with Local Member Care Coordinator and Regional Director in providing support during long-term care needs or when specialized care is needed
  • Facilitate a relationship between other specialized care-providers and TeachBeyond.
  • Help link members with needed specialized services
  • Provide regional member care services (e.g. retreats, training, transition training etc)

Communicate with and visit members serving without a team or Local Member Care Coordinator regularly

  • Help them maintain a sense of connection with TeachBeyond
  • Provide direct member care services as needed (debrief, counseling, support)

Help establish and offer regional services

  • Meet regularly with Regional Director(s) to assess risks, determine needs, and consult regarding members and issues in West Asia
  • Assist local coordinators in creating a crisis plan where none exists
  • Help create local member care strategies, plans, and resources for each assignment location
  • Provide relevant training opportunities in the region for personal growth
  • Be aware of current events and potential risks in the region and be both proactive and reactive with members.
  • Consult with other TeachBeyond departments on needs and developments in the region
  • Provide communication back to TeachBeyond leadership during a crisis.

  • Encouraged to establish and maintain a support team; stay in touch with sending church.
  • Participate actively in local church; follow a personal growth and life long learning plan; report regularly on ministry, personal life, and finances; participate in meetings and events mandatory for all members (prayer days, training, etc.).
  • Works well in a team, expressing a positive outlook, loves people.
