Bible Teacher

Job Summary:

As a Bible teacher at BEA, you will present the Christian faith in a systematic manner, based on Biblical evidence, teaching God’s plan of salvation throughout the ages. You will also present the Word of God in an interactive and engaging manner, teaching the whole counsel of the Scriptures, inspiring students to become Bible readers and true followers of God.

Goals for this position will also include practical application of Biblical truth, along with memorization of Scripture. As students learn the fundamentals of the Christian faith, they will also learn the thinking skills that will help them develop as mature believers, consistent with Bethlehem Evangelical Academy’s philosophy, vision, and mission statement.

All BEA staff members are expected to intentionally foster an environment that promotes love, respect, student empowerment, critical thinking, and student leadership. BEA staff members should demonstrate the love of Christ in their relationships with the students and each other.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Preparing level-appropriate year-long and weekly lesson plans including teaching objectives, planned activities, integration of Biblical themes, and differentiation for various levels of ability within the same group.
  • Planning, preparing, and delivering instructional materials for maximum student learning, focusing on assisting the student in becoming an intrinsically-motivated learner.
  • Working with students to develop skills, such as organizational and time management abilities and effective study habits.
  • Learning to engage students with regularity and intention, making the Scriptures come alive through hands-on activities, small-group projects, and higher-order questioning.
  • Including the integration of technology as a tool to involve the students and add interest level to the class periods.
  • Preparing and adjusting course curriculum guides to provide for both good pacing of material and good organization of school-wide Bible class content.
  • Reading through and understanding the goals and objectives of locally-mandated “Christian Religion” curriculum for the purpose of incorporating as many of these themes and topics as possible into BEA lesson planning for Bible classes.
  • Seeking to maintain personal spiritual maturity and leadership qualities for the purpose of becoming a real role model to students on a practical level.
