Elementary Special Education/Resource Teacher
Teaching responsibilities may involve going into general education classrooms to promote inclusive learning opportunities and pulling students out for individualized support. Other responsibilities will include consulting with general classroom teachers to support them in providing excellent inclusive education for our diverse students and helping to craft learning support plans for students with documented disabilities.
Responsibilities:
- Educating children in the classroom, in groups, or individually
- Meeting with students and parents to discuss education-related issues and attending staff meetings
- Establishing a developmentally appropriate, positive, inclusive and safe learning space.
- Overseeing students during recess, lunch and other activities
- Talking to parents about their children's progress
- Meeting and working with other teachers and supervisors to discuss school policies
