Responsibilities:

Support Students

• Implement age-appropriate activities as directed by the teachers in small groups or one-on-one with student(s)
• Assist student(s) with carrying out classroom activities
• Observe student(s) for academic, behavioral, and social concerns, and communicate findings to lead teachers
• Supervise and guide student(s) during class if the lead teacher is not present
• Assist student(s) in academic, social and emotional skills 

Assist Teachers 

• Communicate progress and observations to teacher regularly
• May assist lead teachers in planning, designing, and implementing curriculum
• Research information for lesson development, as needed by lead teacher
• Assist in checking student(s) work and homework
• Make copies and prepare materials as needed
• Support the lead teachers in promoting positive student behavior
• Maintain student records and perform other clerical tasks
• Operate equipment such as projectors and computers for instructional purposes

Qualifications:

• Licenced graduate from Teacher training program
• Preferred 2 years experience working with students with special needs
• Is able to clearly communicate in English, both written and verbal
• Ability to encourage and engage with student(s)
• Can work confidently and independently
• Ability to help students focus on learning in a positive manner
