Black Forest Academy (BFA), in cooperation with Christliche Schule Kandern (CSK), is seeking to appoint suitably qualified, experienced elementary school teachers to serve as co-teachers in a bilingual Christian national school. Recent graduates are also encouraged to apply. German language is recommended but not required.

Core Purpose: To provide quality, Christian, international education for elementary students in Grades 1-4.

Responsibilities:

• Perform all work according to the BFA and CSK Core Values, Code of Ethics, and Principles for BFA Personnel as described in the policy manual and to enforce these values within the environment of the school. 
• Teach year groups or subjects as assigned by the CSK Principal from a Christian point of view in collaboration with the German-language teacher supplied by FES 
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom. 
• Keep accurate records for each class – e.g. weekly overview of teaching, lesson plans, grades, attendance, etc. 
• Maintain a professional demeanor in the carrying out of all duties. 
• Be prepared to teach and serve in a broad range of responsibilities as requested by the Administration.
• Work effectively with the CSK Principal and BFA Academic Support Department
• Cooperate with the budget as approved by FES.
• Participate in planned activities for CSK, such as leading devotions as scheduled 
• Maintain personal teaching certifications – State or Provincial and ACSI. 
• Cooperate in a professional development program. 
• Finish the school year well by contributing wholeheartedly through year-end evaluation and any clean-up that might take place. 
• Undertake any other duties as directed by CSK Principal.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education
• Classroom experience is preferred. 
• Knowledge of the German language is an asset, but not required

A joint venture between BFA and Freie Evangelische Schule (FES) in Lörrach, CSK is a Christian school, teaching English and German. It is also a certified German school with the Baden-Württemberg Department of Education. CSK’s English-speaking faculty are staffed through BFA and seconded to CSK. Staff are missionaries and raise their own funds. CSK is located in a beautiful village in southwestern Germany, a 25 minute drive from both the French and Swiss borders.
