Head of School/Director

The Head of School will uphold and model the standards that are part of a Christian School. He/she will seek to use his/her God-given abilities to lead the School to promote the spiritual, emotional, social, and educational development of staff and students.

At Timothy Academy, we are looking for qualified staff who will invest their time and talents to lead and develop our new school start up. Our ideal candidate will be passionate, creative, and a servant leader. The goal is for learners to understand—not only know—what they are being taught, as they set their feet on the path to lifelong learning.

Summary Objectives of this Role:

  • Serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the school, reporting directly to the School Board.
  • Strategically implement and develop the mission of Timothy Academy to bring about the vision.
  • Be responsible for the development of administrative principles and procedures of policies.
  • Assist the School Board in designing, cultivating and progressing a long-term vision for the school, and implement duties as assigned by the Board
  • Establish strategic plan and annual goals with input from the School Board.
  • Ensure strategic alignment of policies and processes.
  • Oversee the budget to ensure good stewardship of Timothy Academy’s funds
  • Lead in recruiting and hiring quality, mission-appropriate, and qualified faculty, and staff.
  • Ensure a holistic education program that leads to expected student outcomes and transformed lives, including a wide variety of student and community activities.
  • Administration of a professional development program that addresses the spiritual and professional growth of the staff; reviewed for relevancy regularly and tracked for effectiveness.
  • Builds relationships between school and families.
  • Create school wide learning culture.
  • Creates a culture of belonging and student activities that celebrates diversity.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in education or a related field from an accredited university
  • School leadership experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of best practices and legal guidelines, and willingness to adhere to the school’s procedures and policies
  • Excellent organization and communication skills
  • Maintains confidentiality
  • Creative, positive, and energetic disposition
  • Ability to work alongside multi-cultural staff and lead with cultural sensitivity.
  • Has a heart for student ministry

Housing, monthly stipend, local insurance and visa assistance will be provided for expatriate teachers.
