High School English Teacher
As English is taught as a second language at Bethlehem Evangelical Academy, our high school English program is critically important. During high school, students will have the chance to refine their English-language skills in preparation for both passing the SAT and preparing foracceptance to an English-language university.
Description:
- Challenge students in important areas such as critical reading, patient research, and precise writing and speaking.
- Possess good knowledge of English literature and writing subjects, with a desire to improve teaching skills and research educational best practices.
- Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage classroom behavior in order to foster an exciting, safe and stimulating learning environment.
- Employ effective, up-to-date teaching methods to ensure the students progress in critical thinking, verbal and written communication skills.
- Maintain good communication and rapport with students, parents and staff.
- Assess the progress of each student regularly, using the prescribed tools effectively.
- Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ varying needs.
- Help new English Language Learners to improve their English communication abilities through class participation and supplementary materials.
