RFIS is in search of a Library Media Specialist (LMS) for grade levels 6-12. 

The library is an integral component of student life at Rain Forest International School (RFIS). For the LMS position, we seek college graduates with no less than a Bachelor's degree. The ideal candidate will demonstrate an ability to be used by God in the area of library/media usage and oversight. They will require flexibility and determination to serve on the mission field. Their task is to serve God by providing excellent oversight of the library and it's resources, instilling in students a love and appreciation of the written word, reading and exploring to assist them in developing in knowledge, wisdom, maturity, and devotion to God.

Responsibilities:

• Provide oversight in the library, its use and its resources.
• Order materials needed and work with teachers to make sure academic and curricular supplies are available for their specific needs.
• Assist in the whole school program and various extra curricular activities.
• Maintain clear, open, and professional communication with teachers and parents.
• Assist in integrating Biblical principles and perspectives throughout the curricular needs.

RFIS requires that their staff are Christian, committed to demonstrating a Biblical lifestyle. They are expected to demonstrate patience, humility, integrity, and kindness, while performing day-to-day duties. They must be devoted to working prayerfully with administration, faculty, students, and parents, to help develop and maintain an environment that is uniquely Christian and academically focused. The LMS reprots to the Director of Academics. All courses at RFIS are taught in English, but a knowledge of French is extremely helpful for operating in this region of Cameroon. 

RFIS is a private, Christian school located in Yaounde, Cameroon serving grades 6-12.  Founded in 1991, to provide missionaries serving in this part of Africa with an excellent academic program for their children.  Today, RFIS serves mission families and expats from all over the world, as well as local Cameroonian students. 

RFIS is in search of individuals with a passion to transform lives.  People who possess specific skills and abilities, as well as a desire to partner with a Mission Sending Organization to provide the financial means to serve in country. RFIS does not provide a stipend to teachers.  All financial support is typically raised via partnership development.  Housing options are available near the school.  Many teachers reside near campus or within a 30 minute drive. 

This position would be for a one year term at a minimum, with the potential to extend. This is a non-paid position.
