Middle School Bible Teacher
The Middle School Bible teacher will provide the instruction necessary to facilitate positive growth in all students and to ensure the development of their Christ-like character and heart of service.
Main Tasks:
- Teach up to 25 periods per week.
- Plan lessons using the Planbook.com program
- Create and maintain a positive classroom environment focused on growth and excellence
- Ensure instruction and assessments are in alignment with the curriculum and mission of the school
- Identify, select, and modify instructional methods to meet the needs of the students with varying backgrounds, learning styles, and special needs.
- Use a variety of instructional and assessment strategies within the classroom that fully support the curriculum and mission of the school
- Regularly review curriculum guides and plan lessons that lead to fulfillment of course priorities and goals
- Ensure the use of the provided curriculum to the best of your ability
- Relate subject matter to Christian life and Biblical teaching
- Create a classroom environment that is pleasant, culturally sensitive and nurturing
- Implement an effective classroom management/discipline program that promotes effective student learning
- Maintain accurate and timely entry of grades
- Communicate student progress as scheduled
- Monitor an advisory or study hall if necessary
- Perform school-related duties as requested or assigned by administrators that enhance the ‘student life,’ mission and vision of the school which may require work beyond the typical school day
- Participate in staff duties such as guiding student drop off and pick up
- Attend weekly staff meetings
- Participate in scheduled in-service, curriculum planning and professional development activities
- Attend beginning of the year orientation
- Complete all end of the year duties from the checklist
- Establish and maintain good working relationship with students and parents
- Communicate with parents by holding Parent-Teacher conferences
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, and parents and follow the Matthew 18:15-20 principle in resolving conflict with others (refer to section 7.7 in the Staff Handbook)
