Nursery Teacher

We are seeking a nurturing and dedicated Nursery Teacher to join our esteemed team of educators. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing a stimulating and supportive learning environment for our youngest learners, ensuring they have a solid foundation for their educational journey.

Purpose of the Post: To provide quality education within the structure and emphasis of the approved curriculum in ways that promote the principles of excellence in the provision of Christian education in a multicultural environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Early Years Curriculum Delivery: Develop and deliver engaging lessons in line with the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum, focusing on play-based learning, social development, and foundational literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Child-Centred Approach: Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment where each child feels valued, supported, and encouraged to explore their interests and develop their unique abilities.
  • Individualised Learning: Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of young learners, providing tailored support and challenges to ensure each child reaches their full potential.
  • Creative Activities: Plan and facilitate various hands-on, age-appropriate activities, including arts and crafts, storytelling, music, and physical play to stimulate cognitive and motor skills development.
  • Parent Communication: Maintain open and regular communication with parents, providing updates on their child’s progress, milestones, and areas for growth.
  • Safety and Well-being: Prioritize the safety, health, and well-being of nursery students, ensuring a secure and nurturing environment conducive to learning and exploration.
  • Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with fellow educators, learning support staff, and parents to create a positive and effective learning community.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in early childhood education or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent teaching certification.
  • Proven experience teaching nursery-age children.
  • Knowledge of the British Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a warm and caring demeanour.
  • Ability to create a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment.

A flexible approach is required taking into account the needs of the School. In addition to being present at the school during school hours, teachers are required to be present at Teacher/Parent evenings, School Presentations, and appropriate wider community activities, as determined by the Principal.
