Regional Coordinator for Higher Education Services - Canada & USA

The Regional Coordinator of Higher Education Services is assigned to one of TeachBeyond’s geographic regions in order to develop, facilitate and coordinate the work of higher education services in collaboration with regional leaders.

Responsibilities:

Identify, initiate, and nurture TeachBeyond partnerships in Higher Education Services:

  • Responds to inquiries from TeachBeyond members about opportunities for formal education with partner schools in Canada and the US.   
  • Replies to general inquiries referred by the TeachBeyond Registrar, other TeachBeyond personnel, or from the Higher Education Services general email account.  
  • Reviews annually partnership agreements and MOU’s with Higher Education Services partner schools, maintaining and disseminating updated information.   
  • Works collaboratively with regional leaders to identify and initiate new partnerships in line with TeachBeyond’s mission.  
  • Represents Higher Education Services with partner organisations in region, or as requested.   

Coordinates Higher Education Services in Canada and the US:

  • Helps develop higher education programs in collaboration with Regional Leadership and Global Higher Education Services team, and partner organizations.
  • Serves on the Global Higher Education Services Team and CANUSA Leadership Team. 
  • Participates in regularly scheduled regional meetings and other teams as requested, in order to serve the needs of the region.  
  • Assists the Global Director and Associate Director in implementing the vision and strategic initiatives of Higher Education in the region.  

Liaises with other departments and division in TeachBeyond’s matrix:

  • Provides updated information to Communications Department for inclusion in TeachBeyond’s publications for members and external constituents. 
  • Disseminates information to TeachBeyond members on educational opportunities with partner institutions.  
  • Assists personnel from Mobilization, as requested, in representing TeachBeyond at recruitment events.  
  • As a member of the Education Services division, collaboratively works with colleagues in Informal Education and School Services to support our common work in the CANUSA region.

  • Mature Christian experience, sound judgment and professional acumen  

Education and Experience:  

  • PhD preferred; Master’s degree with training in theology and missions  
  • Leadership skills needed for initiating, managing and completing projects  
  • Ability to work collaboratively with intercultural teams 
  • Knowledge of opportunities, trends and challenges in global higher education pertinent to the mission of TeachBeyond  
  • Higher education experience in intercultural settings   

Professional and Technical Skills:  

  • Strong leadership skills  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills needed for working across the matrix in TeachBeyond’s organizational structure 
  • Organizational skills needed to manage flexible schedule and project development 
  • Ability to respond in a timely manner to inquiries and interests in Higher Education Services  
  • Skills in sensitive and effective cross-cultural adaptation, communication and contextualization 
  • Ability to work collaboratively in an intercultural team and across areas of expertise and experience 
  • Working knowledge of Office 365 tools for day-to-day business, technological savvy with internet and other IT systems or willingness to learn quickly 

This opportunity is a remote and support based position. Part-time or full-time with flexible hours depending on initiatives and projects. Pay is based on the applicant's own ability to raise funds for their salary; paid via donor or self-support.
