Safeguarding Specialist

The Safeguarding Specialist will support the development and implementation of preventative and responsive strategies to advocate TeachBeyond's Safeguarding Program globally.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Collaborate with Safeguarding Specialists in program development, interviewing, and assisting in safer recruitment, training, and record keeping
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Safeguarding Program; including the Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct
  • Ensure that regular training is provided to all TeachBeyond workers and their children
  • Maintain an electronic system for monitoring and reporting member training requirements
  • Participate as a response team member when concerns are raised, includes the proper completion of reports
  • Work with and support partner schools and projects in safeguarding

Education, Experience and Skills Desired:

  • A relevant secondary degree with courses or training in health, preventative health, child development, or psychology; work experience in a related field may be substituted for educational qualifications
  • Self-starter; ability to work independently, as a team player, and from a distance
  • Proven interpersonal, public relations, written, and verbal communication skills; with proven ability to communicate with a variety of formats and audiences across cultures
  • Extensive understanding of confidentiality and a keen awareness of the sensitivity of the information processed and held as part of the duties of the position
  • Ability to order priorities with a high level of efficiency reflected in good work habits and a sound work ethic; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously from concept to delivery
  • Strong organisational and technical skills
  • Rigorous standards in professionalism and ability to work congenially on teams

This opportunity is a remote and support based role; full-time; 32-40 hours/week. Pay is based on the applicants own ability to raise funds for their salary.
