Spanish Teacher

At Bingham Academy, we offer Spanish in our secondary school beginning in grade 6. Our Spanish language program builds proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing as well as an understanding and appreciation of Spanish culture. At Bingham, you will have the opportunity to make an impact in an environment where students and parents value your contribution and ministry. 

We are currently looking for Spanish Teachers with an ability to teach upper level classes at AP equivalent / A Level.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Spanish or related subject
  • Teaching License, Qualification or Credential
  • Experience teaching languages
  • Proficiency in the Spanish language and be able to teach all four modalities: speaking, listening, reading and writing
  • Experience teaching Cambridge IGCSE and/or A-Level Spanish (desired, but negotiable)

Key Skills: 

  • Demonstrate understanding of recent educational trends and best practices, including relevant curriculum and learning and assessment theory
  • Experience designing personalized and differentiated learning experiences for students
  • Effective classroom management techniques
  • Commitment to positive communication with all stakeholders
  • Ability to work within a team environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Ability to contribute to a positive school environment for students, staff and the overall community
  • Passion for excellent education
  • Willingness to learn

Responsibilities:

  • Teach courses assigned by the secondary principal
  • Carry out all assigned duties with professionalism
  • Teach and serve in a broad range of responsibilities as requested by administration
  • Communicate timely and professionally with parents as needed, discussing student performance and writing annual reports
  • Maintain personal teaching certifications
  • Participate in ongoing professional development
